Have you ever been told that your parents are your whole world? Well, here is a story that shows just how true that is.

One beautiful day on Mount Kailash, the home of Shiva and Parvati, a visitor arrived. It was the wise sage Narada, and he came bearing a gift unlike any other: a single, gleaming mango that shone like the sun itself.

"This is a divine fruit of knowledge," Narada explained. "Whoever eats this mango will be granted supreme wisdom. But here is the challenge—it cannot be cut or shared. Only one may have it."

Immediately, both of Shiva's sons, Ganesha and Kartikeya, wanted the special prize. So, Shiva set a contest. "Whoever can circle the entire world three times and return here first," he declared, "will be the winner."

Without a moment's hesitation, Kartikeya jumped onto his vehicle, a swift peacock, and soared into the sky. He was fast and strong, determined to race around the globe.

But Ganesha just stood there, watching his brother leave. He knew his small mouse could never win a race against a speeding peacock. So what did he do? He thought.

A loving smile spread across his face as he realized the answer. He turned to his parents, Shiva and Parvati, and with great love in his heart, he began to walk around them. Once. Twice. Three times. He then bowed low. "I have finished," he said.

Shiva smiled, puzzled. "But how, my son? You never left this mountain."Ganesha's reply was full of a wisdom far greater than speed. "My parents," he said softly, "are my entire world. To circle you is to circle everything."At that moment, Kartikeya returned, breathless from his journey, only to find the mango already in Ganesha's hand. He had circled the land and sea, but Ganesha had understood the universe.
